His stirkes were furious and it was entertaining to see a HW punch that fast. He ended up breaking his hand and required surgery after the fight.

A heavyweight matchup between Fedor and japanese favorite, Takada. Unfortunately this was a quick one.


Fedor Emelianenko VS Mark Coleman:
Fedor faced Coleman in the HW Grand Prix at Pride: Total Elimination 2004. Fedor had a lot of respect for Coleman and openly praised him for popularizing the groundnpound. The fight turned out to be a quick one with Fedor finishing him in the first round, eliminating him from the tournament.

Their rematch took place at Pride 32: The Real Deal at Las Vegas, it was Pride’s first show in America. Both Fedor and Coleman had a lot respect for each other. Fedor won the rematch by armbar again. Prior to the submission, he threw some heavy punches that caused cuts and swelling around Coleman’s face, which later scared Coleman’s kids who were watching the fight ringside.

Fedor ‘s pride debut was against the 6 ft 11 Dutch kickboxer, Schilt, at PRIDE 21-Demolition. This marked the start of Fedor’s Pride legacy.


Fedor Emelianenko VS Mark Hunt:
Fedor’s most recent title defense was against Hunt at Pride Shockwave 2006. Hunt actually had a good fight, he was able to escape from Fedor’s submission attempt early and countered with some of his own. He managed to put Fedor in an Americana. Unfortunately, Fedor fought his way thru and finally submitted Hunt. Fedor had a toe injury coming into this fight and he later admitted that he took Hunt too lightly.
